Sure, the standards have raised a lot and there's animators with incredible animation skills, effects, etc but you've got something that's still pretty rare:
Amazing choreography and just the right amount of cartoony movements.
It's for that reason that you're still my favourite animator out of the whole community (besides Krinkels)
A lot of the movements in your animations don't make sense, but that doesn't matter because it's still entertaining as fuck.
Your choice of sounds is also top notch, it really adds some "oomph" to the scenes.
In my opinion, entertainment is just as important as the actual animation.
A scene could be animated perfectly but the scene could still be boring as fuck, and I'm pretty sure that there's not a single scene you've made so far that's boring.
I dont feel down. Really not. I am happy to see new animators gone so far in their skills. They can bring something more interesting than me. So It is not necessary to be in collabs anymore. Let the new blood rise and shine. We old ones can be here as mentors.

You should concentrate on yourself, trying to be better has never been a priority if you follow it like this. Everyone animates the way we do, and that's true for you as well. Aww man you should't worry about effects or others skill. Why? Hell dude the way you do combat is far way more iteresting than 90% of movies what are out there. And effects of gun flash pff a lot of time is draw in colors than is slap blur on it. Anyway is good to hear about you old bro. ;)
